Rollout of the toolkit for Community Development Practitioners
In October to November 2010, Khanya-aicdd rolled out the ‘Toolkit for Community Development Practioners in South Africa’ with the National Department of Social Development. This involved workshops across seven provinces namely Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape, Limpopo, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and the Northwest. The aim of the toolkit is to provide practical guidance for Community Development Practitioners in South Africa to facilitate community development processes using the Sustainable Livelihoods Approach.
These workshops also aimed to give the CDPs a very basic understanding on how to apply a Sustainable Livelihoods Approach in planning for and implementing interventions at the community level. For more information about Developing Capacity on Sustainable Livelihoods Approaches
