This edition looks at governance issues that are necessary to support sustainable livelihood efforts. In particular the edition analyses the six governance issues proposed by Khanya as critical if sustainable livelihoods are to be promoted. This newsletter draws from research work by Khanya-managing rural change in Southern and Central Africa. This is being used to provide background for a series of approaches to support local governance, which will be highlighted in other newsletters
