Building capacity for co-operative governance as a basis for integrated water resource managing in the Inkomati and Mvoti catchments, South Africa
This paper focuses on the development of an interactive approach to capacity building in the Mvoti and Inkomati Catchment Areas (KwaZulu Natal, South Afric), drawing from a portfolio of approaches that can be described as social learning, social appraisal, or whole system development. In the Inkomati, the work was primarily done with the an approach known as Future Search, whereas in the Mvoti, an approach referred to as 'the U-process' and social appraisal were used as guiding metaphors and design principles.
