Ward Development Plan: Ward 2 - Mangaung Local Municipality
Mangaung Local Municipality developed its Integrated Development Plan from 2002-7 using a genuine participatory planning process. Wards produced a development plan, which informed the Municipality of the priorities of each ward, helped the Municipality decide on the objectives for the whole area, and also helped to guide the Ward in what it will do to take forward its own development programme, with support from a variety of actors. Ward 2 was the first ward to have a plan developed, and is one of 3 pilots for Mangaung, that tested out the methodology.
