Description: The design phase of the project will scan knowledge on productivity of small stock and application of the community based worker concept in Lesotho and elsewhere. Technical packages will be identified and training for application conducted.
Services provided: Supporting the design of a programme to promote the productivity of small stock and animal disease control through the use of Community Based Workers.

This is a food security practice activity. It addresses vulnerability to avian flu in Lesotho. It contributes to asset protection and development, and addresses vulnerability to hunger and poverty especially in the rural areas. It integrates the application of Khanya-aicdd practices and methodologies in community empowerment, linking various levels of government with communities and service providers. It also demonstrates Khanya-aicdd philosophy of working in partnerships
